The Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold Sporting Club, Emmanuel Frimpong 
says his club is ready to play in the Confederation of African Football (CAF)  inter club competitions.

His comments follows the decision of the Ghana Football Association to cancel the 2019/2020 season of the Ghana Premier League. In view of that, the GFA yesterday selected Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold Sporting Club to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup  respectively. 

AshantiGold SC by virtue of winning the NC Special Competition Tier 2 in 2019 gets to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup while Asante Kotoko, winner of the Tier 1 competition features in the CAF Champions League.

The 27- years old in an interview with Kumasi FM revealed that, Ashantigold SC were preparing towards the African campaign  after the league was suspended due to the coronavirus.

"We are eighty-five percent (85%) ready for Africa. When the league was suspended,there was a rumour of Ashantigold and Asante Kotoko going for Africa hence we started preparing and putting everything in place."

Our coach has been sending training schedules for the players at home. My players are very ready for anything." He said.

The young CEO also revealed that, his outfit would have been on top of the league log if the league wasn't cancelled.

 "Ashgold would have been at the top of the league but for the cancellation of the league." He said.


Ashantigold SC were knocked out by RS Berkane 4-3 on aggregate in their last campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
